The Department of Tajweed & Qiraat offers Basic and Advanced courses in correct Qur’anic recitation, pronunciation, articulation points, rules of Tajweed, and principles of Qiraat. The department seeks to help students recite the Qur’an accurately, confidently, and in accordance with established scholarly traditions.
This course is designed to develop accurate and confident recitation of the Holy Qur’an through a systematic study of the rules of Tajweed. Learners are introduced to correct pronunciation, articulation points, characteristics of letters, rules of recitation, and practical application under guided instruction.
This course introduces learners to the scholarly discipline of Qiraat, focusing on the recognized modes of Qur’anic recitation transmitted through authentic chains of narration. Students will study the principles, terminology, selected variations, and recitational features associated with the established Qiraat traditions.
